You may be aware of it already, but in case you aren’t; your elder sister is the greatest woman you’re going to have in your life! Sure, you’ve had your ups and downs but when push comes to shove she is always the one who has your back!

The relationships we have with our siblings is sometimes a rocky one where they are our fiercest protectors while being our biggest critics. However, all the criticism and tough talk is dished out with the purpose of making us stronger, better and sharper. Your elder sister will love you unconditionally through thick and thin no matter what you go through in life she’ll always be there for you!
1. She exposes you to deeper perspectives
She gives you insights and speaks from a place of wisdom that you really benefit from. Because she is older, she has seen more of the world and has a greater perspective on things. Her take on things is often more insightful than the opinions of your friends and peers.
2. You have nothing to hide anything from her.
You can always be yourself when you’re around her. She has been witness to your most embarrassing moments growing up so there is really nothing to hide. You don’t have to keep your guard up, you don’t have to put the face on that you do for the rest of the world, you don’t have to be formal or guarded; you can let all of your inhibitions go and just be yourself around her. You’ll never have to fake it around her!
3. She is always there for you even when have no one else.
Whether you are in a relationship or not you can always rely on your sister to be your go-to person. When you are going through a heartbreak, need advice or have good news to share she’s often the first person you turn to! When you’re lost she is the person you think of calling first because she is always there for you and wants nothing in return!

4. She always keep things real.
Your sister wants nothing from you and has no secret agenda, that’s why she is always going to be completely real with you. While she is protective of you she is always willing to let you hear it raw and won’t lie just to make you feel better. She will tell you what you need to hear to grow and to better yourself in any situation. Even if what needs to be said is uncomfortable and cold she won’t hesitate from saying it as long as it does you good.
5. She has a closet full of clothes that you can ransack any time you want.
Her wardrobe and her belongings are all free for you to use! And even if she gets made when you take her stuff deep down inside she loves it when you look good rocking her clothes or gain some benefit by using her belongings!
6. She has the greatest appreciation for your potential in life.
More than anyone in the world your sister knows how great you can really be. She probably knows more about you than your parents because you couldn’t hide anything from her growing up. Because of this she knows everything that you have been through in your life and she knows how far you’ve come along and the struggles you’ve faced and she truly understands how strong you are and what your potential really is!

Her home is always your home. Whether you live in the same city now or not deep down you know that you are welcome in her home anytime – her doors are always open to you!

When it comes to family issues she understands everything you’re feeling. No one knows you better than her – she understands the kind of pressure your parents may be putting on you and she understands all the problems you may be facing at home. She is the only one who truly understands everything you’re going through in life.
9. She is your first and closest friend.
She’s your very first and oldest friend because you knew her from the day you were born! You’ve spent more time with her than any of your other friends, and that makes her your closest friend by far!
10. She gives great advice.
Your sister has a strategic advantage of being able to view your situation with more data and a greater perspective than almost everyone else in your life. She is also older and more experienced. She has already been through the stuff you’re going through now. When you need to get something off your chest she is willing to listen. For these reasons she is your greatest advisor!
