Woman calls for child-free suburbs because she doesn’t want to live near screaming kids

It is no secret that some people are child-friendly, and others are not. In the recent past, we have seen people calling for child-free flights. But now, a TikTok user has the internet up in arms of a controversial request. She is calling for child-free suburbs. She is “so sick” of hearing them in her garden and seeing them everywhere she goes. Interestingly, not everyone was against her.

No more kids

Imagine the most glorious day. It’s probably a Sunday, and the weather is just right. It’s a perfect time for a relaxing session by the pool. You get out your floaties, pour your favorite drink, and clamber onto your gallant inflatable steed (with as much elegance as you can muster). But then, as you start to settle into a sun-lit doze, a high-pitched skreak fills the air, making you jump. Your balance goes out the window, and you flop into the water, losing your drink in the process.

The exact scenario described above is exactly what one 27-year-old TikTok user is trying to avoid. Known as Baby Soja, the Melbourne native is notoriously not kid-friendly. In other words, she does not like children, of any age, at any given point in time. She has made it her mission to bring about child-free suburbs. “I would like to know when somebody is planning on opening an adults-only suburb where everything in it is only for adults,” Baby Soja said.

The fact that children are typically loud and emotional creatures is why she wants to live unbothered by their noise. “I’m so sick of going places and kids are just everywhere screaming, and I just have to put up with it?”

Can’t even exercise

Baby Soja opened up about a recent excursion to a public pool. She watched as the children ran amuck by jumping in and out of the pool. This might seem like an average kid activity, but their chosen entry point was the exercise lane in the pool. This is usually designated for those wanting to exercise.

But, with the kids sporadically leaping into the lane, it was impossible unless you wanted to get a surprise cannonball on the head. “They have their own pool and they’re in the lap lane pool, not swimming laps just jumping in screaming, and that’s just allowed because they’re allowed everywhere,” said Baby Soja.

Soja’s compromise was to call for suburbs without any children. She truly despises them and feels this is a fair settlement. “I just feel like people like me who are evil and hate kids we should have our own suburb where we can just be quiet and undisturbed.”

There was an overwhelming amount of people who agreed to Baby Soja. One TikTok user said: “I would spend all my savings to get to this community.” Another chimed in, saying even the parents might want a break from their children. “Not just for people who hate kids but I imagine some adults with kids would like a break too,” they said.

Those who love children certainly did not agree. Some suggested that Baby Soja moves into a retirement village. This is the most likely place to not be confronted by screaming children. That is unless her wish comes true.

Childless flights

The world is becoming more and more expensive. Thus, many millennials are choosing not to have them fg altogether. As a result, there have been a few requests in the recent past where adults without children want child-free zones. For example, a social media user used their platform to ask airlines to create childless flights. That way, they wouldn’t have to endure another person’s baby screaming all through the night.

Amelia McBride is a solo traveler who does not have children. She recalled multiple occasions where the parents asked her to switch seats with her. Generally, she agreed, even on one flight where she had paid extra to ensure she got a window seat.
