Mom shares $5 hack for bringing dead plants ‘back to life’

Having a garden is the dream for many people. But most do not even have the time for their general day-to-day errands, let alone tending to their plants. One UK-based mother was fond of her fake foliage, but she still had two real plants to care for. The only problem was, they were dead plants. Instead of hoping over to the nursery to buy some new ones, she found an amazing hack that would make them look as if they were flourishing with life once more.

Lisa Harvey, 45, from the UK has recently gone viral for posting about a plant hack she recently discovered. She lives in Surrey with her husband and children and leads a busy life. This means she does not have as much time as some do to care for the plants in her garden. This is why she mostly has fake plants. They do not require any care, just the occasional dusting from time to time. As nature would have it, she does own two real plants. The kind that requires watering and plant food. “I have fake plants and flowers but these were the only two real ones in my back garden and they are both dead,” said Lisa.

The only thing is, they were dead plants, with brown leaves and all!

Lisa faced two choices. Either she removes the deal plants from their pots and buys a new one, or she could buy a fake plant to replace them instead. Both were costly options, and Lisa decided neither was worth it. But the issue of the ugly-looking dead plants still persisted. Then, she had a brilliant idea. One that has gained her viral recognition.

Lisa posted her dead plants hack online, and her video gained over 10,000 likes. Many people were thrilled at the idea of making the plants seem as if they were alive and healthy when in reality they were dry as a bone and as brown as an autumn leaf. Her method was buying a can of green spray paint, and quite literally spraying the life back into them. Or so it seemed. “I decided to get some spray paint and see if it works,” she said. Lisa said her husband was under the impression she had lost the plot for this crazy idea of hers. However, her dead plants were not looking like they ever craved water a day in their life. “My husband thought I was mad but it’s so quick as well,” she said in her video. “It didn’t take me long, plus I have some of the paint left in the can.”

Saving Time

This hack saved her a lot of time and effort in digging up the dead plants and going to the nursery to buy a fresh plant to re-potNot to mention saving her from making false promises of watering the new plant every day. It was a money-saving dream too. “It has also saved me money as the paint was just over £4, and it would cost me more to buy two new plants,” she said.”
