The month of October is the spookiest month of the year. With Halloween just around the corner, people are gearing up, and practicing their scare. One couple had booked a maternity shoot. Although, it started off just like any other, with beautiful scenery, cute outfits for the soon-to-be parents, a picnic blanket, and all. However, it quickly turned into something quite horrific. Be advised, the images you are about to see might cause some concern.
Horrific maternity shoot
In 2018, Todd Cameron was expecting a baby with his wife, Nicole. Todd was keen on having a professional maternity shoot to capture the memories of their baby. Although, Nicole was not interested in the typical couples photo shoot. So, Todd came up with a plan that would transform the experience into something hilarious. Todd posted the pictures on Facebook, and BoredPanda decided to share their story. They soon went viral, as so many could not believe their eyes.
Todd had found a chestburster model at a garage sale, which sparked a crazy idea for the maternity shoot. He said to BoredPanda. “I had recently found an Alien Chestburster model at a garage sale. And after putting it together and painting it, the photo shoot idea came to me. I had an idea for the general story and props needed. Including carving the alien pod pumpkin and Nicole took care of finding our “out there” wardrobe.”
According to Todd, the maternity shoot lasted for one hour, but they were laughing the entire way through it. “The creepy photos took about an hour to shoot. And, though chilly and muddy on the pumpkin patch, it was so much fun,” he added. “We just kept laughing at the absurdity of it and hoping the employees of the farm wouldn’t drive by to see us covered in blood.”
Photographer
Finding a photographer can be a tricky task. There is so much talent out there, but not everyone suits the theme you are going for. However, Todd and Nicole are friends with a photographer known as Li Carter who’s work ranges from weddings to cosplay. That was the perfect combination for the maternity shoot they had in mind, and it turned out according to plan – seriously gruesome.
“Li Carter is a local photographer here in Nanaimo, BC,” said Todd. “She is involved in many fun projects, capturing everything from weddings to cosplay events and anything in between. She is also a friend of ours and has shot many of our personal family funny photos including my “The Big Lebowski 40th Birthday”, my annual personal holiday, “Sasquatch Day” and even our “Enchantment Under The Sea” Back to the future wedding. Li is very laid back, easy to work with, and we always make a great team with our collaborations. She, as always, was the perfect choice for this shoot.”

Halloween – a special time of year for the family
Where most people put more effort into family holidays like Christmas, it is Halloween for the Cameron family. In their interview with BoredPanda, they mentioned that they had met during one Halloween. So, their Halloween maternity shoot was perfectly fitting. Now, they make sure they celebrate it every year to its fullest potential. “We always hand-make elaborate costumes and we go all out on Halloween decorations at our house, so this was really just a fun way to celebrate who we are while passing on a few smiles and laughs in the process!”

Todd and Nicole’s maternity shoot turned out better than they had hoped for. they posted the pictures to an album on Facebook, which gained over 15,000 likes. Additionally, it had over 600 comments, and it was shared over 330,000 times. Todd captioned the post: “Well, you won’t believe what happened yesterday DURING OUR MATERNITY SHOOT!!! Our chests are bursting with love for our new addition!
