Bridget Fonda, the reclusive actress who retired from Hollywood more than two decades ago, made a rare appearance recently—and looked quite different from her previous public appearances. The “Jackie Brown” star was seen running errands at a landscaping supply store in Los Angeles.
All while wearing a casual outfit that included an oversized white sweater, black capri pants, and blue sneakers. She completed the look with a messy ponytail hairstyle. The actress, who is now 59 years old, was last seen in public in September 2022. And before that, had not been photographed for 12 years until her 58th birthday in January 2022.
During her last public appearance in January 2022, Bridget Fonda opted for a natural look as she was spotted wearing a black-and-white-striped jersey top and black sweatpants. No makeup on. Her appearance took fans aback as she looked markedly different from her days as a svelte and glamorous actress.

Taking a break from all the publicity, Bridget Fonda disappeared from the scene in the early 2000s
According to reports, Fonda departed from Hollywood in the early 2000s following a severe car accident. One that left her with a fractured back. In 2003, she married Danny Elfman, the former frontman of Oingo Boingo. And the couple started a family a year later. Oliver, now 18, was born to Fonda and Elfman in 2004. Additionally, Elfman has two daughters, Lola and Mali, from his previous marriage to Geri Eisenmenger.
Fonda’s notable film credits include the lead role in the 1992 thriller “Single White Female,” as well as appearances in “The Godfather Part III,” “Singles,” “Point of No Return,” “It Could Happen to You,” and “Jackie Brown.” Her last role was in the 2002 TV film “Snow Queen.“
Fonda comes from a renowned acting family that includes her grandfather, the Oscar-winning actor Henry Fonda (who passed away in 1982), her father, “Easy Rider” star Peter Fonda (who passed away in 2019), and her aunt, actress Jane Fonda, who is currently 85 years old.

She told Movieline, “I wonder how satisfied I would be with my current position if I weren’t from a family that has accomplished such incredible work. I wonder how it would feel to know that I made it entirely on my own. Sometimes, I wonder if I would be more content if I knew I had succeeded on my own merits, instead of always wondering how many times my name opened doors for me.“
