Twins Aylin Yolanda Trujillo was born at 12 am on the 1st of January, 2022 and her brother, Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, was born at 11:45 pm on the 31st of December, 2021.
These twins from California were born just 15 minutes apart from one another but were born in completely different years.
What Was Special So About These Twins?
Alfredo Antonio Trujillo was born at 11:45 pm on the 31st of December, 2021. His twin sister followed suit at 12 am, on the 1st of January, 2022. She was the first baby to be born in 2022 at the Natividad Medical Center and in Monterey County.
Twins, Aylin and Alfredo weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces, and 6 pounds, 1 ounce respectively. The twins had three siblings, the hospital mentioned everything in a statement.
“What makes their birth so rare is that they were born on different days, months, and years,” the hospital said.

Another Couple That Gave Birth To Special Children
The chance that twins are being born in different years is estimated to be around 1 in 2 million. 2 years prior to this incident, a couple from Indiana gave birth to twins who were born in different decades. One was born on December 31, 2019, while the other was born on January 1, 2020.
These siblings were born just 30 minutes apart from one another.
Joslyn Grace was born at 11:37 pm on December 31, 2019, making her the last 2019 baby born at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel hospital. Thirty minutes later, her brother, Jaxon DeWayne, entered the world at 12:07 am on January 1, 2020. Jaxon was the hospital’s first baby of 2020.
Parents, Dawn Gilliam and Jason Tello were so excited about the incident and felt that it was pretty awesome.
Gilliam, who is also the mom of Gabryel, 5, and James, 10, said the twins already have distinct personalities.
Joslyn is a total daddy’s girl while Jaxon was the complete opposite.
Joslyn and Jaxon, who were born weighing 4 pounds, 11 ounces, and 4 pounds, 7 ounces, respectively, were kept in the hospital until their February 19 due date.
Trujillo Talks About The Special Occasion
“It’s crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays,” said Fatima Madrigal, the Trujillo twins’ mother. “I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight.”
Dr. Ana Abril Arias, who was a family doctor at Natividad Medical Group, stated that the delivery was “one of the most memorable” of her career.
“It was an absolute pleasure to help these little ones arrive here safely in 2021 and 2022,” she said. “What an amazing way to start the New Year!
