We live in a world where technology is ever-evolving. We are fortunate enough to own many gadgets that help us with our lives, from our computers and smartphones to seemingly more simple things like a Roomba vacuum cleaner. But what happens when the robots âtake overâ? While we donât think thatâs happening anytime soon, we think this woman got quite a fright when she received an alarming text from her smart vacuum cleaner!
Smart vacuums are all the rage
You can see why these vacuums are so popular; I mean, they do the work for you. This nifty little invention is a must for any home, especially when you have more important things to worry about. Smart vacuums can help you keep your home clean but, what would you do if your vacuum needed your help, and to get that help, it sent you an alarming text message?
Basically, this woman from New South Wales, Australia, had exactly that to her. Her smart robotic vacuum cleaner sent the alarming text message when it got stuck on the edge of a landing in their home.[1]
Morks alarming text message
The family had named their vacuum Mork. And, when in need, mork sent a message directly to her husbandâs cellphone.
The alarming text read: âMork requires your attention. Mork is stuck near a cliffâ

The mother says she received a hilarious message from her husband, along with this picture of the robotic vacuum hanging on for dear life.

Afterward, the Aussie mom shared her funny story on a Facebook group called âMums who clean.â Accordingly, loads of other moms shared their stories of alarming texts from their own vacuums! One woman said that hers disappeared after sending a message that told her itâs âin troubleâ and she needs to âplease clean upâ because it was stuck in toilet roll paper in the bathroom corner![2]
Some of the comments from the thread:
This womanâs vacuum is named Bruce. Evidently, he likes to get himself into trouble!
ââHe doesnât behave and Iâm always yelling at him for getting stuck, lost, and rolling through cat food. Apparently, he got sick of me and decided to teach me a lesson. Drained his battery, revenge, $179 later. Iâll try and yell a little softerâ

Unfortunately, even though smart vacuums are equipped with sensors, sometimes they still get themselves into unfathomable situations, like this woman who lost her âJeff.â
âThe sensor must of been dirty cause it didnât even stop at the stairs. It jumped straight off. Jeff wasnât happy that day to do the cleaningâ
