Woman mortified by secret meaning of pineapple tattoo

Many of us have a tattoo we regret. One we probably acquired from some dodgy tattoo shop in our early 20’s. But. did you ever think something as innocent as a pineapple could end up being a tattoo fail? We certainly had no idea, and apparently, neither did this poor woman.

Taking to TikTok, Brittany Lewin who lives in Queensland, posted a video about how absolutely mortified she was when she found out what her cute hipster-style tattoo actually meant. Of course, she had absolutely no idea what the tattoo represented. At this point, her video has been viewed over 43,000 times and apparently people are saying they knew what it meant. Well, it’s a first for us!

So, what does her pineapple tattoo really mean?

Well, according to The Daily Mail, this is what the seemingly innocent fruit represents.

A pineapple left on a doorstep is a known symbil in swinger circles to let neighbors know you’re in ‘the lifestyle’. 

As a tattoo it represents hospitality and a welcoming environment but an upside down pineapple is known to signify you are either a swinger or looking for a swinger party to attend.

Hidden upside down pineapple symbols have been spotted in cruise ships and hotels to capture the attention of those with aligned interests.

The Sunshine Coast resident posted her video along with comments from some followers who asked her if her tattoo was in fact, an upside-down pineapple.

Along with the comedic comments about her fruity-tropical ink, Brittany admits to making a huge mistake. The comments she shared in her video of embarrassment did not disappoint either. Have a read and a laugh!

One comment said: I always thought you and James were just into some extra fun stuff lol, I’m sad that you didn’t actually know. Another jokingly mocked her pineapple: Every time I see the tattoo I was thinking to myself “does she know.”
