Mom Raises Over $49,000 For Teen McDonald’s Worker Who Paid For Her Food When She Forgot Her Wallet

Have you ever ordered a meal and then realized you forgot your wallet at home? If you have, you’ll know things can get awkward real fast. However, for this mom, when it happened to her, her server at the drive-through window paid for her food!

This mom forgot her wallet

Every so often, we come across an awesome story that’s just too good not to share!

Brittany Reed is a mom to three children. And, like most of us, sometimes struggles to remember everything. Especially when her kids are crying and acting up.[1]

After picking her son up from his sports practice, her two youngest children started crying because they did not want the dinner she’d planned. She gave in and headed for the McDonald’s drive-through.

Tonight as I was leaving football practice with my three kiddos, my 4-year-old was so tired he started crying and acting a fool as we were getting in the van. My 7-year-old daughter started crying because I told her we were having red potatoes as a side for dinner, and clearly she wasn’t a fan sooo I threw my hands up and said, FORGET it – McDonald’s tonight !!

So, the server paid for her food

On the day that Brittany went through the drive-through, Wyatt Jones was working. The kind young man offered to pay for her bill.

We go through the drive-through order food all three kids are now crying for one reason or the other I go to pay – I LEFT MY PURSE AT HOME. Welp, now I wanted to cry. I look at the young man with tears in my eyes just from being stressed and annoyed and say, “hun, I am so sorry, but I have to cancel that order I left my purse at home when we went to football tonight” WITHOUT HESITATION he takes out his wallet and swipes his card before I could even say “no I will be right back!” I was like, wait no, hun, it’s ok I will come back through then he replies, “no, it’s totally fine, my pleasure.

Brittany did end up driving back to the McDonalds that evening. But, Wyatt refused payment, saying he was happy to pay for the meal.

A random act of kindness leads to more

The mom was obviously moved by Wyatts act of kindness, as can be seen by her post on Facebook about him. She heard that he was busy saving up for a new car. And she decided to try to help him reach his goal faster.[2]

We are setting this Go Fund Me up for him because we have recently found out that he is working at McDonald’s to save up to buy a car and I want to pay it forward and show him the same type of kindness he showed me.

Brittany set up a Go Fund me page for Wyatt. At the date of publishing this article, they have raised $49,626! After he paid for her food, Brittany was clearly not the only one impressed with the young man’s random act of kindness! Their $5,000 goal has been far surpassed!

Wyatts mom is very proud of her son.

It makes me even probably more proud of him because he’s not seeking the limelight. He’s not like, ‘Hey, look at me, you know, I did this great big good deed.’ He’s still like … ‘It’s just something I would do anytime.
