New ‘Home Alone 3’ Trailer Depicts Wet Bandits Being Released From Prison in 2024

A trailer has reignited excitement for the classic Home Alone franchise, envisioning a bold new chapter where the infamous Wet Bandits—Harry and Marv—are released from prison in 2024. Created by YouTuber @VJ4rawr2, the trailer cleverly combines nostalgia with a modern twist, imagining an older, more formidable Kevin McCallister preparing to face his old nemeses once more. Its as if Home Alone 3 was created with an older Kevin McCallister. This is not to be confused with the actual movie, Home Alone 3, which was a 1997 film that featured an 8 year old boy named Alex Pruitt, played by Alex D. Linz.

The parody fan trailer, Home Alone 3: Kevin’s Revenge, picks up decades after the events of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Harry Lyme (Joe Pesci) and Marv Merchants (Daniel Stern), the clumsy criminals whose heists were hilariously thwarted by a young Kevin McCallister, are finally free after serving more than 30 years in prison. The trailer opens with the duo leaving Kevin a chilling note: “We’re back, little buddy.”

As the story unfolds, the trailer suggests that Harry and Marv’s vendetta against Kevin has only grown during their time behind bars. Determined to confront the now-adult Kevin, the Wet Bandits return to their old tricks, but this time with a more sinister edge. Meanwhile, Kevin, played by archival footage of Macaulay Culkin, prepares his home with an arsenal of even more dangerous traps, signaling that the stakes are higher than ever before.

In this imagined sequel, Kevin McCallister is no longer the wide-eyed boy who accidentally took on two burglars. Instead, he’s a resourceful adult, ready to defend himself with a blend of ingenuity and grit. The trailer depicts a house fortified with “guns, explosives, and possibly tarantulas,” as Kevin takes every precaution to ensure Harry and Marv don’t get the upper hand. A news broadcast in the trailer even warns viewers about the booby traps, adding a layer of dark humor to the fan creation.

To add to the nostalgia, the new Home Alone trailer includes appearances by Kevin’s older brother, Buzz (Devin Ratray), imagined as a police officer keeping an eye on the house. Fans have praised these nods to the original films, which retain the franchise’s charm while exploring a grittier tone.

Although this trailer isn’t an official production, it has captured the imagination of fans worldwide. Cleverly edited using scenes from other films and TV shows featuring the original cast, it paints a believable picture of a grown-up Kevin once again outsmarting his adversaries. Viewers have called the trailer “genius” and expressed their longing for a real sequel with Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern. One fan wrote, “I haven’t gone to the cinema in a long time, but if they make this parody into a real movie, I’ll grab my money and go to the cinema in an instant. I swear.”

This renewed interest in Home Alone underscores the lasting appeal of the franchise, especially the first two films, which have become holiday staples. While later sequels and spin-offs failed to replicate the success of the originals, fans continue to cherish the story of Kevin McCallister’s adventures and his battle with the hapless Wet Bandits.

The fan-made Home Alone 3: Kevin’s Revenge trailer is a brilliant homage to one of the most beloved film franchises of the 1990s. By blending nostalgia with a fresh premise, it offers a glimpse of what a modern-day showdown between Kevin McCallister and the Wet Bandits could look like. While this vision remains a creative fantasy, it’s clear that the world isn’t ready to let go of Home Alone just yet. Whether through fan creations or official productions, Kevin McCallister’s legacy continues to endure—and delight audiences of all ages.
