The love and pride parents feel for their children know no bounds, particularly when a great milestone is on the horizon. As such, many people have been capturing and recreating precious moments from their past. In 2019, one father-daughter duo went viral for recreating a seriously precious graduation photo.
Capturing Graduation
When Tori Roach graduated from Huntsville High School in Texas in 2018, she, like many other teens, posted some photos of her graduation day onto social media. In particular, one graduation photo caught the attention of many, and captured hearts everywhere.
Tori honored her father, who’d also graduated from the same high school just 18 years before she did. In fact, Tori added a throwback graduation photo alongside her own picture. The throwback graduation photo shows her father at his graduation giving, at the time baby, Tori a big kiss in celebration. Each graduate proudly wearing their high school’s green cap and gown.
Going Viral for a Precious Graduation Photo
On the other hand, it took a year for the small-town girl and her loving father to catch the public eye. However, in 2019, they became recognized for the sweet moment they shared in each graduation photo. The duo recreated the sweet moment, with Tori still in her father’s arms.
Alternatively, she is now all grown up and was celebrating her own high school accomplishments in the adorable moment. “We found the old picture of me and him when we were going through my baby photos to display at my graduation party and my aunt thought it’d be a good idea to recreate once I graduated,” Tori said.
It’s no secret to Tori that her father is an attractive man in the eyes of her followers. In fact, many people asked, so she jokingly clarified that her father was, not single. She also shared that he had a baby on the way with her stepmom
Going viral to recreate the wholesome moment was exciting for Tori because she explained that living in a small town can become a little mundane. She was thrilled when her social media blew up with notifications from other social media users. “I’m from a small town and nothing like that ever happens over here. I didn’t expect it to blow up like that! Once it started happening, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I called my family and I was like, ‘Everyone’s sharing the pictures!’” She said.
Graduation Photo brings Family together
Adding that the pair is better off for the viral graduation photo, she explained, “It brought me and my dad closer in a way because we could share that moment, and I feel that not many other people get to experience that.”
By the time the precious graduation photo went viral, Tori was already a college student, at Sam Houston State University. She disclosed that they planned to recreate the graduation photo again. Tori planned to finish college in 2022. However, that photo has yet to surface. Regardless, the love and pride Dennis Roach feels for his daughter is evident in both pictures and it’s clear why they captured the hearts of thousands.
More People are Recreating
Tori and Dennis’ graduation photo isn’t the only recreated picture going viral. In fact, the trend has become very popular in the last few years. Siblings have recreated sweet moments as gifts for their parents or parents. Meanwhile, children and grandchildren have recreated these sweet moments for another parent or for grandparents. Some are hilarious, and others are downright bizarre. Some even include pictures where children have recreated the looks of their parents in the 70’s and 80’s. In one really cool and creative photo, a woman recreates a portrait of her great-grandmother from 1918.
