A Heated Debate Over The Correct Way To Cut Toast Divides People Online

Is there a proper way to slice toast? According to the internet, which apparently knows all, most people do actually have a preference. So, where do you stand on the great toast debate?

As is the case with most intensely heated debates online, this one all started with a meme. Or rather, a tweet. One user posted an image of 3 slices of toast, each cut a different way. “Settle a family feud for me. Which is the right way to cut toast?” Naturally, internet users began commenting. Thus, a debate was born.

How do you Cut Toast?

More and more people started posting this tweet and asking the question, “how do you cut toast?” We started learning about others, and ourselves. Maybe you cut toast in a diagonal fashion, and that’s what you consider normal. Or perhaps, you have always sliced it lengthwise. Are you one of those less-commonly seen folks who cut it straight down the middle?

Well, it turns out people had strong opinions on this subject and were not hesitant to share them. You really can learn a lot about people and their feelings, just by sharing a simple tweet.

Personally, I always enjoyed eating my sandwiches more when they were sliced like number one in the image. However, if I was having soup or stew, number 3 would be ideal. I have never known anyone who cut their toast like it is shown in number two. So, which one is “normal” for you?

The Missing Cut

It’s important to point out that one very specific cut was missing from this family feud. Thankfully, someone mentioned it in the comments.

If you have kids, or if you ever feel like adding some fun to your bready adventures, you cut your toast into quarters. The four-square method of eating toast is, by far, the most enjoyable. Both for adults, and kids alike. At least none of us are the types of people who cute the middle of toast out, right? Right?
