Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, a famous couple in Hollywood, are in trouble because they openly supported their old co-star, Danny Masterson. Masterson, known for being on the TV show “That ’70s Show,” was found guilty of a serious crime called rape. This has caused a big argument about whether Kutcher and Kunis are doing the right thing, what they believe is right, and how it might affect their jobs in movies and TV shows. As a means to defend their intentions, Ashton and Mila posted a video explaining their reasons on Instagram. However, this has sparked even more speculation.
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis Write a Plea for Leniency
When Danny Masterson, a former co-star on the highly popular “That’s 70s Show,” was on trial for raping two women 20 years ago, his family reached out to those who could vouch for his character. So, when Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis received a call, they didn’t hesitate to write a letter to the judge asking for leniency when it came to their friend’s sentencing for his conviction. They were not the only ones, as around 50 letters reached the judge asking for the same thing.
However, it was the letters of Ashton and Mila that caught the public’s attention. In Ashton’s letter, he wrote, “I do not believe he is an ongoing harm to society.” While Mila called Danny Masterson an “outstanding role model and friend.”
This may have been seen as to friends doing the right thing for another compadre. However, the public was up in arms about supporting a convicted rapist. Now, they feel like their public image has threatened their future careers. “They legitimately feel like they are getting canceled,” a source said in an interview with the DailyMail. “Ashton was looking forward to this past weekend being very low-key and devoted to watching football and dealing with his fantasy football teams. With all the people railing against them, it isn’t going to go away anytime soon, and they are feeling it. They are hoping as time passes, people will forget and or move on from their criticism.” The source concluded, “But as of right now, they are anticipating that the damage of it all might affect obtaining future work in film and TV.”
Kutcher and Kunis Explain Their Intentions
While the public is scornfully against the once-adored couple, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, they have been working on a means to defend themselves. So, they did what all people in the 21st century do best, and made an Instagram post. They posted a video of themselves explaining the reasons behind their letters to the judge. “The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity of the jury’s ruling,” Mila Kunis said.
More Controversial Clips
This video was meant to save their image, but it seems to have made things worse. Those on the accusor side of the Danny Masterson trial have shared videos of Ashton Kutcher when he was still a young and sprightly 25-year-old.
Below is a video of an interview with Ashton Kutcher from 2003. He was talking quite honestly about Hilary Duff, the teen sensation. He said in the clip, “She’s one of the girls that we’re all waiting for to turn 18. Along with the Olsen twins.” Needless to say, the public did not like that.
Before that, a 2002 clip of the now-married couple has resurfaced. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were talking about the beginning of the That’s 70s show. Mila was only 14 years old and Ashton was 19. During those years of adolescence, that’s a big difference. They joked about how the directors wanted them to kiss, yet Mila had never kissed anyone before. “I never kissed a guy. And you know,” said Mila. “Ashton is attractive and I was a 14-year-old little girl, and I was extremely scared for my life.”
Allegedly, Danny Masterson offered Ashton Kutcher $10 if he kissed Mila. “Then Danny goes, ‘Dude, I’ll give you $10 if you French kiss her,’” revealed Mila.
Then, there was another clip of Ashton Kutcher talking about the “That 70s Show” as a promotion. There was Mila Kunis sitting on his lap. As Ashton grabs his future wife, she squeals awkwardly. He said, “And the reason I’m doing this is not that I think In The Crease TV is good but because Josh told me that Mila will sit on my lap… and it feels good.. I like it a lot.”
