This quote about love seemingly may not apply to people without religious ties. It’s a good practice for daily life and helps us treat those we love with grace and compassion.

Many people argue that religion is believing without physically seeing proof that God exists, including seeing or speaking directly to God. Interestingly, spiritual practices teach that the little voice in your head is the Great Spirit responding. Either way, the Bible acknowledges that “no one has ever seen God” but that if “we love one another, God abides in us his love is perfected in us.”

Essentially, 1 John 4:12 teaches that love exists without visible proof of God’s existence, but becomes apparent when we choose love.

8. A Quote about Unwavering Love

Forgiveness is something that many people struggle with, whether it’s forgiving themselves or others. “He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.”

17. Self-Control

While this may not feel like it applies to those who don’t believe in God, as he’s taught in organized religion, the world needs more love and compassion so it’s a sweet and powerful reminder of the good that can come from absolving ourselves and others from the mistakes of our past.

19. Religious Context

This verse is deeply rooted in religious context so it’s difficult to see how it might objectively apply to everyone. However, it’s interesting to see how easily people might find peace or joy in believing in something bigger and more powerful than themselves.

Mark 12:30 says: “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

20. Selflessness Always Applies

1 John 3:16 says: “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.”

While not everyone believes that God sacrificed himself, or His Son, this verse encourages people to love one another, selflessly. We can create more loving and profound connections with others by considering them and their needs more often.
