The movie’s plot revolves around Alex receiving a remote-controlled car as a reward for helping Mrs. Hess, his neighbor, shovel the snow from her driveway. However, that toy car was special. It contained a super important computer chip. As a result, Alex has to ingeniously keep criminals from stealing the chip. There is much at stake since the thieves intend to deliver it to a terrorist organization. The movie received considerable criticism for being different from its predecessors. In the film, Scarlett Johansson played Molly Pruitt, Alex’s older sister. She was only 11 years old at the time. Recently, fans went into a tizzy after discovering the fact, too. One comment on X (earlier known as Twitter) read: “How the hecking HECK did I not know Scar Jo is in Home Alone 3?????” Another read: “Scar Jo is in Home Alone 3 and my mind is blown.” A third went: “How did I just realize say Scar Jo was the sister in Home Alone???”

In 2021, during an interview with Seth Meyers, Scarlett discussed how she re-watched her past movies, among other ‘90s classics, during the quarantine. This included Home Alone 3, which was released in 1997. In fact, she had watched it alongside Rose Dorothy, her daughter, who was six years old at the time. She had explained that Rose had loved the first two parts. However, she kept her involvement in the third one a secret to see if Rose would discover it on her own.
Unfortunately, it was far too much for the young child to notice at a glance how her mother looked like when she was only 11. Instead, Scarlett Johansson had pointed out the character and reveled in the surprise on Rose’s face when she revealed the detail.
