Heroic Mom Cradled Her 2 Young Kids As They Were Ripped From Their Bed And Thrown Into The Air By A Tornado

As many of you now know, a massive tornado ripped through Dawson Springs, Kentucky. What you may not know is that Breeana Glisson and her children, by some sort of miracle, survived. This is their amazing story.

Breeana had heard the emergency sirens blaring on Friday night, so she gather up her daughter, who is only 2 years old, and her son, who is 4. The mother then retreated to her bed for the night, a more central part of the home.

Breeana then wrapped her arms around her children to keep them safe and waited for the storm to pass. When the tornado hit Breeanaā€™s home, the massive force caused the roof to collapse which crushed the motherā€™s arm.

ā€œAnd then, after that, in a millisecond, we were no longer in the bed or in our house,ā€ the mother said. ā€œWe were on the ground all the way up there somewhere.ā€[1]

The Scenes After The Tornado Had Passed

When she opened her eyes and looked around, she had no idea as to where she was. All she could do was stand up and shout for help. She did her best to find someone who would help her and her children.

The motherā€™s arm had been broken in that incident. She had also suffered several injuries on her face and her head. Her house was completely destroyed by the tornado.

Somehow, her children were safe and suffered no serious injuries.

ā€œItā€™s insane. I canā€™t believe that me and my kids are OK,ā€ Breeana said. ā€œI canā€™t believe that thereā€™s no broken bones on my children. Itā€™s crazy.ā€

She believes that being on the mattress saved their lives while they were flung across the air.

ā€œWe werenā€™t just flying through the air, we were on the bed,ā€ she said.

More Details About The Other Victims

Breeana and her children were considered to be extremely lucky, but others did not have the same fate. As per Governor, Andy Beshear, the death toll was somewhere around 74, and this figure is expected to rise.

People all over the world have started to donate, to assist the victims of tornadoes.

Oaklynn Koon was only 2 months old and had passed away from her injuries, the day before.

Her family had asked the public to pray for their little daughter on Sunday, while she was still in the hospital. Her life support was later pulled out and the family confirmed her death on Monday.

De Andre Morrow was 28 years old and was amongst the 6 people, who were killed in the tornado which struck an Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois.

His fiance, Chelsea Thomas, started an online appeal and mentioned how he wanted to become a ā€œhousehold nameā€ through several business ventures. She stated, “He strived to make life better for his family, friends, and community.” A GoFundMe page was also started for Morrow and has currently raised more than $3,000.

Annistyn Rackley was only 9 years old and loved to dance and swim, as stated by her aunt, Sandra Hooker.

Annistyn, her two younger sisters, and her parents took shelter in a windowless bathroom on Friday, in their new home in Missouri. The girlā€™s mother texted a photo of the three girls smiling as they were in their ā€œsafe spaceā€. Fifteen minutes later, the tornado struck their house and carried the family dozens of yards away, into a field. They were later found in the mud. Annistyn did not make it through but the others did so with severe injuries.Ā [2]
