Divided Reactions to Depp’s Return
While some fans are thrilled about Depp’s first major role in an American production since his defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard, others have voiced discontent. Comments like, “Johnny Depp comes back to Hollywood for a movie about drinking. Makes sense,” and “I wish cancel culture was real,” highlight the ongoing controversy surrounding the actor.
Critics argue that Depp’s return represents Hollywood’s reluctance to hold certain stars accountable. “Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Armie Hammer, Jonathan Majors. They still keep getting a hundred chances. CAN WE JUST NOT??” one detractor remarked.
