Art has a way of capturing the world from fresh perspectives, and one artist’s humorous depictions of European countries showcase just that. By blending stereotypes, cultural quirks, and a pinch of absurdity, Zackabier, a German YouTuber, turned geography into comedy and innovative gold. Here’s a country-by-country look at these entertaining caricatures that answer the question: “Europe According to Creative People — What Europe’s Countries look like“.
1. The French Owl

In Zackabier’s eyes, the country of France looks like a cutesy owl staring right at us, with one of its wings tucked inside. It even looks like it it has a twig stuck to its back, probably while foraging for food.
2. The Italian Boot

The shape of the Italian peninsula has long been considered to look like a boot. The German artist gives it a formal and regal look, complete with the heel and the upper part of the stocking.
3. German Wizard

This one is bit of an funny caricature. The artist makes his historic homeland look like a young wizard flashing any unwitting passerby. We wonder what the thought behind this one is.
4. Bulgarian Kitten

The Baltic state has been given a much cuter look than its stereotype. Of course, the Bulgarian fans love it because who doesn’t want to come from a country that looks like the butt of a kitten?
5. Croatian Dragon

The tapering shape of Croatia becomes the tail of a majestic and mythical dragon. The wings are particularly impressive in this imagination by the artist.
6. Greece: Ancient Meets Modern

In Greece, where ancient mythological gods reigned supreme, an old and weary man seems to be looking down through the shape of the country. One more sign of decay from its heyday is the bottom island made to look like a bone.
7. The Boar of Russia

Another funny rendition is that of the cold and tough country of Russia. However, contrary to the usual objectives, the artist sees a pig’s butt in the shape of the European part of Russia. The offshore island becomes a piece of poop (no offence intended, we think).

8. Estonian Pup

The country of Estonia can be seen as the head of a brave puppy. The German completes it with its ears and even gives it a collar made up of the broken parts in the west.
9. Serbian Reptile

The nation of Serbia has been given the look of a muscular reptile of some sorts. There is perhaps a legend behind it, given the nation’s location. Regardless, it looks pretty snuggly.
10. The Answer to Norway

Hilarious warning, once more, although it is a very minor one. Commenters argued that a guitar is much more fitting to the shape. However, the artist’s rendition of the country as a sperm seemed to be a nod to how the nation is struggling with population count recently.
11. The Whale of Finland

One of the northernmost countries in the world has been represented as a majestic blue whale. At least, it looks like a blue whale to us. The artist has even added in the fountain on their head.
12. Cyprus

We are not absolutely sure as to what Cyprus is represented as. However, our best guess is that it is a type of rodent. It can possibly be just a simple mouse too.
13. Polish Baboon

Poland has quite a violent history in recent times. So the artist makes it a point to give some comic relief to represent the country. What better to serve that purpose than a gaping baboon?
14. Great Britain

Of all the countries that can be portrayed as a dragon, Great Britain is perhaps the most fitting. For the British Isles, the artist chose to make it look like a bit of a derpy, burping dragon.
15. Denmark and the Superheroes

Most people can identify that cowl with pointy ears. Along with the cape, the artist’s depiction of Denmark is a hilarious soggy depiction of the vigilante of fictional Gotham City.
16. Slovenia

For the final one on this list, we have Slovenia. This time the artist chose to depict it as a cheery rooster. Or is it a chicken? Let us know in the comments!
