Inside the home, authorities discovered the bodies of Jeremy Koch, 42; Bailey Koch, 41; and their two teenage sons, Hudson, 18, and Asher, 16. Initial investigations suggest Jeremy fatally wounded his family before taking his own life. The crime scene revealed all four family members suffered fatal knife wounds, with the weapon found on-site. It was effectively deemed a murder-suicide.

“Cozad Schools was made aware of a tragic situation that will deeply affect our Cozad community. Our thoughts are with all those impacted during this incredibly difficult time.” Both Cozad Middle School and High School opened their doors to offer counseling and support for students. The community united to offer strength and compassion during this challenging time. Nearby Holdrege Public Schools also expressed their grief and announced similar measures to provide emotional support to their students and staff.
