So, It seems that regret is one thing that we all have to learn to live with. Not many people get to say that they have lived a life with nothing to regret. Why? Because we have all done something we wish we hadn’t. Today we have more on the story of Will Smith’s latest regretful action, and how he now fears being canceled for what he did at the most recent Oscars.
What Did Will Smith Do at the Oscars?
If somehow you’re not aware of the most recent shock and horror that went down at the 2022 Oscars, I’ll fill you in. The night had started off smoothly. With all the glorious dresses and attire, and even more gallant behavior from those who attended. Little did everyone know that their night was to take a step up, and quite dramatically, as some have said.
Chris Rock was leading the evening with some of his infamous jokes. Comedy has been known to target people’s weaknesses and embarrassing moments or failures, but most people shrug it off. Will Smith was not able to resist the anger he felt when Chris Rock made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett’s bald head. So, Will got up and walked right onto the stage where Chris was and slapped him across the face. As you can imagine, Chris was left with a look of utter shock on his face, which matched how the audience must have felt.
Will proceeded to shout from his set for Chris to leave his wife’s name “out your f*****mouth“. The world thought that will was just overreacting to a bad joke, but then we found out that Jada actually has alopecia, which is a disease that causes severe hair loss.
Will Smith Faces Being Cancelled After Oscars Debacle
After the big night of the Oscars, the Academy has decided they must take action against Will Smith’s untoward behavior. All members of the Academy are required to act with a certain degree of civility, and there are rules against violence. Will resigned from the academy as a result of his actions, but he still faces further repercussions.
On Friday the Academy has planned to meet to weigh out their decisions and opinions on whether or not Will Smith should, or should not be “canceled” entirely.
Us Weekly has said that those who are close to Will Smith speak of his fear that the worst is to come. Now, he is genuinely getting worried that he is being canceled. Will Smith has stated that he “fears that he is in the process of being fully canceled.” And is, “worried about what will happen to his career from here.”

Will Apologies to Chris Rock over Oscars Slap
So, as we have mentioned, regret is never far behind after questionable behavior. It did not take Will long to realize what he had done. And, how sorry he would be for slapping Chris Rock so inappropriately. He would feel that regret for a long time to come. He made a public apology to Chris Rock. This is fitting because the whole ordeal was blatantly on display for all to see and gawk at.
Will Smith’s apology was as follows. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,” Smith said in a statement. “And, I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.” A close friend interviewed with US magazine said the following about it all. “He feels terrible and is trying not to panic. But, seeing his roles put on ice has been a hugely bitter pill to swallow.”
Will Will Prevail?
Some people are convinced that regardless of the whole saga Smith will come through in the end. You know how the phrase goes, where there is a Will, there is a way! Whoopi Goldberg seems to agree that Will shall triumph once more.
She said to Us Weekly. “The question is, does he have a path back? Yes, of course, he does. He’ll be fine, he’ll be back. No worries.” Regardless of Whoopi’s hopes for Will Smith’s future career, it seems as if the productions for the films “Fast and Loose,” and the all-time-favorite, “Bad Boys 4” have been put on hold. We shall find out more after the Academy has reached a decision.
