Twin Sisters married Twin Brothers. Their Kids Are Technically Cousins But Genetically Brothers

A twin can sometimes be construed as a genetic miracle. But, such siblings can often be connected on a psychological level. This manifests in their choices, and their lifestyle. In fact, a sibling so identical to you could have some impact on who you choose as your partner. And that is exactly what Briana and Brittany Deane did. In their interview with Insider, Briana mentioned- “So often, we were in relationships with singletons who didn’t accept our twin sister bond.” She also added that, at a very spiritual level, she wanted them to marry another set of twins.

Her sister, Brittany, was also not immune to this desire. “I think there was some underlying stress that if one of us got too serious with a singleton guy, then it would ruin this dream we had, which was always our hope, even though others told us it was unrealistic.

Now, such romance only exists in fairy tales. Right? No. The sisters did meet twin brothers Jeremy and Josh Salyers. And they got married to them as soon as they could. Briana married Jeremy, while Brittany married Josh.

Three years ago, the twin sisters exchanged their vows with the brothers. The joint ceremony took place at the 2018 Twins Days Festival. And for that purpose, they had decked out Twinsburg, Ohio. What really hits the nail home- they got married by identical ministers. After the ceremony was over, an elated Briana told PEOPLE, “It’s really been a fairy tale come true. Marrying twins is something that’s very important to us. Even when we were little girls I can remember being in kindergarten, knowing that this is what we saw for ourselves.

The other twin didn’t shirk from expressing her opinion. Brittany added, “We knew that the chances were incredibly scarce. The stars had to align for our dreams to come true. I get to marry the man of my dreams and at the same time I get to look over next to me and see my twin sister marrying the man of her dreams.

Interestingly, the sisters had met the Brothers for the first time exactly a year before their relationship. Not to sound too cheesy, but that does seem like a match made in heaven.

A ‘Match’ Made In Heaven

As it goes with most identical twins, Brittany and Briana absolutely loved matching outfits. “More often than not, it’s very much a joint effort. I think that because we have the same brain, we will both wake up thinking, ‘OK, I want to wear X outfit today’, or whatever the event is that we have going on that day,” informed Brittany. In the TLC show, ‘Extreme Sisters’, this is a task for them. With some of their outfits getting misplaced, it really gets difficult for them to work.

As for their husbands, the twin sisters are quite lucky. The sisters have mentioned that their husbands had sworn to never marry until they found identical sisters. Brittany informed, “If they couldn’t find identical twin girls that matched up well with them, they were never getting married. I think that they experienced a lot of the same challenges dating what we call singletons, which means non-twins. It’s hard when you’re dating someone and they don’t understand the twin bond.”

Twin Cousins- or Genetic Siblings?

Although both the couples have kids now, they did have pretty strong intuitions on how it would be. Back in 2017, Brittany had mentioned, “When we have children, my and Josh’s children will be genetic siblings to Briana and Jeremy’s children. Even though they’re cousins, they’re technically genetic siblings. We imagine it will be like two moms and two dads raising our families together.

What really highlighted the extent of their twin-ness, is the couples’ decision for co-parenting. Jeremy informed Entertainment Tonight back in 2021, “I feel like I’m Jett’s parent and I think my brother feels the same way about Jax. We all live together and we are raising the kids together. It feels like one family unit, not two separate couples with their own babies. It’s the four of us with our two babies.” For the record, Jax is the son of Briana and Jeremy, while Brittany and Josh have birthed Jett.
