The world has been going crazy over the case against Amber Herd led by Johnny Depp. He is suing her for defamation of character for her article with the Washington Post saying that she was a victim of domestic violence during her marriage to Depp. There are endless debates to read where some of Amber’s fans support their star, but there are also those who believe that Johnny was the real victim in that marriage. Johnny has sued Amber for $50million, but Amber has countersued him for $100million. The number of fans supporting Johnny has grown over time, and now a petition has been sent out. Gathering signatures to remove the actress from Aquaman 2.
Amber Petitioned to be Removed from Aquaman
The trial has been a particularly nasty one, a lot of truths have been revealed, showcasing the character of both Amber and Johnny. It seems their relationship was pretty toxic, but which one was the victim? Time will tell as the trial continues, but let’s discuss some of the trial’s details.
In 2018, Amber heard interviewed by the Washington Post, where she referred to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” She did not say that Johnny was her abuser per se, but it was implied. Johnny Depp claimed he faced troubles as his own professional name was tarnished thanks to Heard’s false accusations. However, it seems like Johnny is taking the public’s favor since a recording was played to the jury where we can hear Heard’s voice admitting that she hit him.
In December 2019 a Change.org petition was sent out to collect signatures for removing the Aquaman star from her role in the sequel. Since the recording was played, that petition was brought back to life, and there are now 3 million signatures. The petition read; “Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry. Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.”

The recording said:
“I didn’t punch you, by the way… I was hitting you, I wasn’t punching you.
“You didn’t get punched. You got hit… but I did not punch you. And, I did not f*****g deck you. f*****g was hitting you. I don’t know what the actual motion of my hand was, but you’re fine. I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you.
“I’m not sitting here bitching about it, am I? That’s the difference between me and you, you’re a f*****g baby. You are such a baby, grow the f**k up Johnny.”
In the recoding heard continues t say that she had, in fact, started a physical fight, and Johnny starting to say that he had to “’get the f**k out of there’.”
So, It ends off with Amber Heard saying, “You did the right thing, the big thing. You know what, you are admirable.” Johnny Depp described her voice as, “the sound that I’d gotten very used to… the squabbling, the raising of the voice’. The recording was apparently done in the bathroom. Johnny was taking a shower and Amber Heard came barging in. She started yelling at him and those were the words that came out. Johnny Depp referred to the incident in Australia where Amber Heard had severed Depp’s finger, he said he felt the need to “escape the fight.”
Depp had also said: “As it escalated and continued to escalate, I went to what I learned as a youth, which was to remove myself from the situation so it couldn’t continue.”
Aquaman Star “Grossly Exaggerating Symptoms”
Johnny Depp took to hiring a forensic psychologist, called Shannon Curry, to determine whether or not Heard showed signs of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. There were 20 symptoms to check, and Heard claimed she checked for 19 of them, so she must have PTSD. The forensic psychologist was not s convinced, and he found she only had three symptoms. The psychologist said,
“She initially said, ‘Yes, I have 19 of the 20 symptoms.’ That’s not typical, even of somebody with the most disabling form of PTSD.” Curry told the court, according to Insider. “When we eventually sort of dialed it down, there were three remaining symptoms” So, if she does not have PTSD, then what is going on with Amber Heard? The psychologist said that she believed there are other mental health conditions afoot. She said: “The results of Ms. Heard’s evaluation supported two diagnoses: borderline personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder.”
