When one bridesmaid was uninvited from her best friend’s wedding, everyone wanted to know why. So, the German model revealed the truth. It is because she looked “too good” in her bridesmaid dress. The bride was jealous and apparently uninvited her friend. All of the drama unfolded on TikTok earlier last month.
Bridesmaid Gets Uninvited
Alena Yildiz is a 21-year-old model in Heidelberg, Germany. She posted her story on TikTok on December 13th, and it’s since got over 10 million views. According to her, “My close friend uninvited me to her wedding because she thought I looked too good in the dress she chose for me.”
As the video continues, the caption reads “Still took some fire pics in it though.” And, if we’re being honest, yes, she absolutely did take some fire pics.
Yildiz told INSIDER that she and 5 other women were to be in her friend’s wedding as a bridesmaid. In fact, the bride even picked out the dresses for each one of them to wear.
“That’s why she chose such an extravagant dress for me — all of our other friends wore extravagant dresses as well, but she only had a problem with me.”

The Dress
Yildiz told INSIDER that each of the bridesmaids had to pay for their own dress. The custom-designed gowns were each around $1400 and featured a mermaid shape, corset with tulle, and a thigh-high slit.
When Yildiz sent a video of herself in the bridesmaid dress to the bride-to-be, she was shocked. Her friend thought she looked too sexy and instead of finding a different dress, or dealing with her insecurities in a healthy way, she just uninvited Yildiz.

“She called me and told me about her insecurities with my dress — that it was too attention-grabbing. She was very angry about the whole situation and ended up uninviting me after the call. We got into a fight because it made no sense to me since she chose that dress herself.“

Even the bride’s other friends told Yildiz that she shouldn’t expect an apology. Apparently, the bride was “stressed.”
“It made me feel like I had no value to her as a friend. We talked about her wedding for years, and I was so happy for my friend to finally be with the love of her life and to celebrate with her.”

When women allow their personal insecurities to overrun their entire lives, damage happens. Friendships are lost, and the environment in any aspect becomes toxic. Yildiz told INSIDER a few final thoughts before ending her interview. It’s something I think we can all agree on.
