For someone getting married, the day is so special. It may be cliche, but if you’re a bride, it’s not unusual to want to look and feel like a princess. As we all know, weddings can be quite an expensive venture. Wedding dresses can cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars and can put a strain on someone’s finances. This is where Rachel Connealy sees things differently. This bride from Florida decided that her dress wouldn’t determine how the day went. She recently went viral because she bought a couple of dresses- that were both below $10.
Speaking to Good Morning America, the newlywed stated, “I still felt like a princess on my day. I guess my own version of what a princess looks like.”
Rachel went viral on TikTok for her thrifty wedding dress choices.
“You never know what you’ll find at the thrift 2 weeks before your wedding,” she said
Rachel had also posted another dress on TikTok which had over a million views. “I thrifted this silk dress right after we got engaged and still wore it for the ceremony.”
Interestingly, the 26-year-old decided to go thrift shopping for her bridal dress. And as luck would have it, she got one dress for $3, while the other she bought for $5. Now, with her wedding dress coming this cheap, she had the funds to have the wedding she always wanted. And let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment. If we buy a dress for $3 and get compared to Meghan Markle- something feels fated.
Bride Manages to Snag a Thrift Wedding Dress Under $10, Video Goes Viral On TikTok
Connealy has quite a practical view of life. “You go to the wedding dress section of a thrift store and there are these beautiful white silks and vintage lace… and get creative with it. For me, I would much rather have an experience than having this dress in a box that I can show my kids in 20 years that they’re like, ‘That’s so out of style’”.
This bride’s dress got rave reviews on TikTok. One user wrote, “Genuinely stunning. Like something out of a magazine. The thrifting gods really have favorites huh.” Yet another user wrote, “Amazing finds, IDK how you did it but they are both so unique and beautiful!!!” One commenter added, “My wedding dress was $50 from Goodwill. You remind me of gorgeous Meghan Markle here! Congratulations.”

Not the Only Thrifty Wedding Around
Incidentally, this isn’t the only wedding when a bride managed to get a dress under $50. Another couple also managed to pull off their wedding for under $500. Interestingly, the bride got a dress below $50.
The bride and groom Joel and Kiara Brokenbrough say, “Our goal was to just be as minimal as possible. And to spend the least amount of money as possible.” The wife had found the dress on Shein’s website where it cost $47. Since she was aware that she would be wearing it just once, she didn’t splurge on it. “I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a dress because I had the mindset I’m gonna wear this one time for a few hours.”
This bride’s wedding had its expenses cut even further with their invitees gifting them stuff. Interestingly, the guests also paid for their own food. Kiara mentioned, “You have a wedding, with witnesses there to witness you, vowing to your spouse, vowing to God that you guys are going to stay together for life. And then you celebrate with food, drinks, and dance. And that’s exactly what we did.”
